Within the Department of Nursing the Staff Academic Advisor primarily serves undergraduate students with academic planning and preparation for admissions to the BSN program. Under the general supervision of the Chair of Nursing, this position is responsible for providing academic advising services to current and prospective students. The Post-Licensure Nursing Advisor assists prospective RN-BSN and MSN students with the transfer and admission process, evaluates supplemental program applications, provides current students with comprehensive advising services, facilitates student success and degree completion, conducts recruitment and outreach activities, and generates program records necessary for grant administration and accreditation maintenance. Additionally, position is responsible for writing/reviewing job descriptions and determining appropriate classifications. This position will work with large databases to compile reports and organize data to provide objective salary recommendations.
